My daughter will be turning 8 soon and I can hardly believe how time has flown. Her theme of choice, this year, revolves around the show Duck Dynasty. She requested a cake with a duck pond on it; and much to my dismay, I could not find cattail cake decor anywhere. Time to be creative.
Have fun planting glitter (i wonder if there is camo glitter out there. heheheh)
I was inspired by the paper beads made with scraps of patterned paper.

Loved the class I took at my Local Scrapbook Store, Memory Bound. We got super messy 🙂
Have you tried stamping with water soluble ink or markers yet? Oh my, you should try. After stamping, I was able to move my color around with a wet paintbrush. It was even easy to directly add color to the places on the image that needed a little more depth. This was my first try…
Plant your Glitter today.
I seem to be seeing lots of gold in the crafting world. Especially gold dipped items, such as feathers. I thought I might try my hand in it and this is the lovely result. Now….what do I use these for?
I stamped some pretty little feathers and cut them out with an exacto-knive. I inked up the edges a little to give them some interest and applied versamark ink to the areas I wanted to emboss. After applying the embossing glitter, I use a little paint brush to get all the extra off the paper, and to clean up the edges a little. I used my heat tool to melt the powder/glitter.
Though I really like how it turned out, I think I need to invest in a nice gold embossing powder without glitter. But, this was what I had on hand when I got the wild hair to give it a go.
